Good morning, Roseville.

The annual Mountain Mandarin Festival is coming to Roseville @the Grounds from November 21 to 23 to celebrate a new crop of locally grown mandarin oranges with free samples, contests, live music and more.

Local growers from Placer and Foothill regions will offer thousands of pounds of fresh mandarins and mandarin-inspired food and gifts for family fun—marking a festive kickoff to the holiday season.

Northern California experienced heavy rain and light snow Monday that led to chain controls on major highways — drivers faced slick roads with up to 2 inches of rain in valleys and mountain passes saw snow accumulations of 3 to 10 inches.

Forecasts show clearing conditions by Tuesday with another round of rain and snow expected Thursday.

Local shoppers in Roseville can find deals on meat thermometers at retailers like Amazon, Kohl’s, Walmart and Sur La Table—devices designed to help ensure turkeys reach a safe 165° temperature for Thanksgiving.

The selections include smart wireless models and affordable options that promise timely delivery for holiday meals.

The Placer County Board of Supervisors approved two affordable housing agreements—one for a 168-unit rental project along Baseline Road and Westbrook Boulevard and another for a 322-lot single-family subdivision with 33 accessory dwelling units—to improve housing options for low- and moderate-income residents.
