Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 6th of November.
Good morning, Roseville.
🏘️ Community
Placer County Health and Human Services is highlighting holiday donation drives to help local families and animals.
Donations for stuffed toys for first responders are accepted through Nov. 30—gifts for foster children will be collected at a Dec. 13 event at the Loomis Train Depot and the animal shelter will offer a giving tree in December.
🚨 Crime
The Roseville Police Department has advised holiday shoppers to plan ahead by securing valuables and using digital payments to reduce theft risks.
The safety tips include shopping with a companion and parking in well-lit areas—steps that aim to protect residents during the busy season.
🏈 Sports
Crews at Boreal Mountain Resort in the Sierra are preparing equipment and checking chairlifts as they gear up for opening days in a few weeks; they expect freezing temperatures next week to help make snow.
Drivers on Interstate 80 are advised to drive slowly—wet weather and a light wintry mix call for extra caution on the roads.
