CRIME NEWS

  • Roseville police said on August 27 that a 44-year-old Auburn man who had been missing since August 22 was found safe at a local park—friend Tomas Evangelista led search parties as authorities thanked the community for its help.  KCRA

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • An analysis by the Hearst Television Data Team shows more than 60 California dams are in poor condition—40 of which are high hazard, including nine in KCRA 3's region, meaning a dam failure could cause loss of life and major economic or environmental damage. Officials note that updated inspections are needed as many dams still lack a clear condition rating.  KCRA

  • The Golden State Storm—Northern California’s newest professional women’s football team—is inspiring high school girls’ flag football by hosting outreach events. The team will host its first Golden State Showdown matchup featuring Vanden and Rocklin high schools and will travel across the region over the next eight weeks to build local connections.  KCRA
