Good morning, Roseville.

The federal One Big Beautiful Bill Act threatens a 20 percent cut in CalFresh funding that may affect thousands of foothill families struggling with rising food, housing and medical costs — a local nonprofit reports residents have received an average monthly benefit of $338.88 to help put meals on their tables.

WIC families in Placer County can now use updated WIC cards — featuring a QR code — to buy fresh fruits and vegetables at select farmers' markets such as Auburn’s Old Town Courthouse Parking Lot.

The change supports local agriculture and ensures that families continue to access their monthly benefits easily.
