- ➤ Placer County’s Board of Supervisors approved a contract with Myers and Sons Construction to remove metal and concrete debris from the American River — remnants from the old State Route 49 Bridge that have been in the water for 60 years. Officials said the removal will be carried out safely — with steps taken to protect the river’s environment. FOX40
