Placer County Sheriff's Office confirmed a body was found in the American River on Sunday around 3 p.m.—the victim is a drowning case and investigators are working to identify the individual.

Deputies were on scene in West Roseville as a grass fire burned near West Sunset Boulevard and Fiddyment Road on Sunday afternoon.

Roads were closed along West Sunset Boulevard between Fiddyment Road and Amoruso Way + Fiddyment Road at Athens Road while fire crews worked to put the blaze out.
