Veterans across Northern California will receive free health, dental, vision, legal, and pet care plus meals and accommodations on May 5 and May 6 at the Placer Veterans Stand Down event at 700 Event Center Drive in Roseville, organized by Kelly Murphy and Mike Barton.
Roseville BikeFest will be held tomorrow, Saturday, May 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Vernon Street Town Square, where a bike obstacle course, safety show, helmet fittings, and food carts offer fun and free prizes for kids along with a chance to win a bike.

California gas prices have reached an average of $6.01 per gallon as of April 30, following a $1.37 jump since the Iran bombing; local stations in Sacramento, Stockton and Modesto still offer prices below six dollars.
Placer County reached record tourism spending of $1.57 billion in 2025 from visitors outpacing the state's growth.
The county will host its second annual Tourism & Quality of Life Summit on May 13 in Loomis to focus on local food and outdoor experiences.
