- ➤ On April 21 at 5:45 p.m., an 11-year-old girl died in an ATV crash on Red Feather Circle in Auburn when the vehicle rolled and partially ejected her while an adult passenger sustained minor injuries. FOX40

- ➤ On Monday, Steve Hilton—an author, government adviser, and Fox News contributor from the United Kingdom—launched his campaign for governor by saying it is time to make California Golden Again. He has discussed ways to improve housing and joins a crowded race as current Governor Newsom steps down in 2026. KCRA
- ➤ The Placer County Sheriff's Office introduced the Blue Envelope Program to help nonverbal people signal that they need extra patience during interactions with officers using a blue envelope, lanyard, or wristband. Residents in Auburn, Lincoln, Rocklin and Roseville (including those with autism or other cognitive needs) can pick up the items at local law enforcement offices. KCRA
- ➤ Placer County supervisors approved a Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan that sets funding for 76 projects to be built by 2030—28 of which are fully funded and ready to break ground by the next fiscal year. The plan will upgrade roads, parks, broadband and other public works using funds from federal, state and local sources. Roseville Today
