About this event

Foundations Acro (Ages 7–12) Acro is a specialized dance discipline that combines elements of flexibility, strength, balance, control, tumbling, and inversions with the artistry and technique of dance. Unlike gymnastics, acro is specifically designed for dancers, focusing on movement quality, body awareness, and skills that can be safely integrated into dance choreography and performance. At The MuVment Studio, we believe that successful acro training begins with strong foundations. Our instructors are certified in Acrobatic Arts, and our program emphasizes progressive skill development to ensure students build the strength, flexibility, coordination, and body control necessary to advance safely and confidently. Rather than rushing through skills, students develop the foundational building blocks needed for long-term success and injury prevention. Drawing from the principles of the Power Fusion Method, classes focus on technical development, conditioning, movement education, body awareness, and progressive learning. Students will explore foundational acro skills including balances, rolls, bridges, flexibility training, strength development, inversions, and introductory tumbling progressions while learning proper technique and safety practices. Acro is an excellent complement to many dance styles and athletic activities. The strength, flexibility, coordination, and inversion training developed in acro can help prepare dancers for contemporary dance, jazz, commercial dance, breakdancing, hip hop, and other movement disciplines that incorporate floor work, tricks, balances, inversions, and advanced movement vocabulary. By developing these foundational skills early, students gain the confidence and physical tools needed to safely explore more advanced movement opportunities as they progress. Key Benefits: Builds strength, flexibility, and mobility Improves balance, coordination, and body control Develops core stability and spatial awareness Introduces safe tumbling and inversion progressions Supports injury prevention through proper technique and conditioning Enhances confidence, focus, and perseverance Prepares dancers for contemporary dance, floor work, tricks, and inversions Supports future training in hip hop, breakdancing, jazz, and commercial dance Creates a strong technical base for future acrobatic and dance advancement Prepares students for: Contemporary floor work Dance tricks and aerial progressions Hip hop freezes and inversions Breakdancing foundations Jazz and commercial dance tricks Partnering and lifts Overall athleticism No prior acro experience is required. Perfect for students who are new to acro or looking to build the foundational skills necessary for safe and successful progression. Power Fusion Method™ The Power Fusion Method is a progressive approach to movement education that emphasizes strong technical foundations, conditioning, body awareness, critical thinking, and safe skill development. By focusing on how students learn and move—not just what they learn—dancers develop the physical, mental, and artistic tools needed for long-term growth, confidence, and success across all movement disciplines.
