Kinusaiga Workshop | Japanese Fabric Art

Ages 16+ welcome with Crafting adult

• We will be using sharp tools and this craft requires a lot of handwork.

• Limited to 14 seats only

• You can choose your own simple design

• Please note you may not finish all the way depending how you work, you will be able to take some fabric and tucking tool home to continue and are welcome to bring the piece back for us to edge & frame for you ☺️

Step into a world of color, texture, and creativity with Kinusaiga , a beautiful Japanese art form often described as painting with fabric . This no-sew technique uses colorful fabric scraps that are carefully tucked into a design to create a stunning finished piece full of depth and detail.

We’re so excited to kick off this new monthly workshop series this July , with two opportunities each month to explore this sought-after craft.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll create your own Kinusaiga artwork in an 8x8 size with a selection of patterns to choose from, or the option to design your own if you’re feeling inspired. * Frame is not included

You’ll learn:

• The basics of Kinusaiga fabric tucking

• Tips, tools, and techniques for clean finishes

• How to layer color and pattern for beautiful results

Please note:

Frames are not included , but floater frames will be available for purchase at the studio if you’d like to frame your finished piece.

Approximate frame pricing:

• 8x8 floater frame: around $20

You’re also welcome to source your own frame if preferred.
