Winter in Gouache

Explore the beautiful opacity and layering of gouache while painting a peaceful winter landscape!

In this beginner-friendly workshop, we’ll start with a short introduction to working with gouache, including paint consistency, blending, creating smooth gradients, and layering light colors over dark. Then we’ll put those techniques into practice as we paint a snowy winter scene filled with mountains, evergreens, a glowing winter sky, and delicate snowy details.

No previous gouache experience is needed. This is a relaxed introduction to the medium with plenty of guidance along the way.

All supplies are included. You’ll be working with Winsor & Newton Designer Gouache, and you’re always welcome to bring your own favorite brushes or gouache paints if you’d like.
